 Waterloo Grout Museum and Planetarium

Planetarium Renovation and Capabilities

SPOUSE'S NIGHT

Our guide will be Billie Bailey. She will show the $200,000 renovation of the 65-year-old planetarium in the Grout Museum District. With the touch of an iPad, a new state-of-the-art projection system will transport audiences to Jupiter, Saturn, Mars or any planet, galaxy or star. The audience can travel backward and forward in time. You can be deep in the ancient Mayan jungle, view the Christmas night

sky – the possibilities are endless – and all in amazing detail.

It is an immersive experience that aims to educate, engage and entertain visitors.

New elements include comfortable seating, 4k projector, upgraded lighting, electrical, sound system  and carpet. Most of the work was completed by Bowen Technologies of Indianapolis.

The map below indicates where you enter the building, where to park and where overflow parking are  located.
