Cedar Falls “Clarion Inn” Against the Grain Restaurant

(Formerly called the Holiday Inn)

This is Not Your Grandfather's Farm

Topic: Dr. Bert Schou, one of the founders of ACRES (Agricultural Custom Research and Environmental Studies https://www.acresresearch.com/ ) will be our speaker. His topic will be “This is Not Your Grandfathers Farm”.

ACRES is a 100 acre station founded in 1980 by Drs. Bert and Diane Schou and is located at 6621 West Ridgeway in Cedar Falls. It is private, custom Agricultural research and development company that studies ways to improve crop yields and to reduce input costs.

Speaker: Dr. Schou has a doctoral degree in Agronomy from Michigan State University and is founder and owner of Agricultural Custom Research and Environmental Studies in Cedar Falls, also known as ACRES Research. He has also been on the board of the “Self-Help” organization in Waverly, lowa for many years and worked on projects in Ghana and Nicaragua.

Meal: Plated Dinner: Chicken Paillard with Artichoke Relish Potatoe Herb Croquet, Asparagus with Hollandaise, House Salad with assorted

dressings, and Chocolate Mouse.

Price: $20.00 per person (includes tax, tip & room rent)

The Clarion has requested that we collect cash for the meal and not checks. “Cash Please” ☺

Please indicate if you are NOT having dinner with us when making a reservation. Please also provide the names of any guests so that nametags can be ready for them.

Note: Checks to purchase meals from the Clarion Inn should be made out to “Clarion Inn.”
