Infrared Thermopile Sensor Array for Industrial Application

Infrared thermopile sensor array is an array that can sense thermal image of an object. With the development of electronic technologies, the resolution of infrared thermopile sensor array keeps increasing and its cost keeps decreasing. As a result, combining with Internet of Things it becomes a promising technology for many industrial applications.

Speaker: Dr. Hong (Jeffrey) Nie

Hong Nie, UNI, received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Electronic Engineering in 1993 and 1995 from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and his Ph.D. degree with specialization in wireless communications in 2004 from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He is currently a professor at the Department of Technology, University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa, US, where he leads various research projects on wireless communication, digital signal processing, and Internet of things. Before joining University of Northern Iowa in 2006, he worked as a senior electronics instructor and research scientist at the Engineering Department of Cape Breton University, Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada from 2003 to 2006..

Dues: Dues are used almost entirely for donations to local groups engaging in some technical field for which the money will make a real difference.
