Topic: Nearly 100 Years of John Deere in Waterloo

The 2013 – 2014 calendar year marks 100 years of meetings for the Waterloo Technical Society. We invite you to be a part of the WTS as we celebrate this milestone throughout the year!

Speaker: Mr. Chris Boyens

As a way to help the WTS celebrate its 100 year anniversary, Chris will be talking about nearly 100 years of products John Deere has manufactured in Waterloo.

Chris Boyens is the senior heritage marketing and research specialist with the Heritage Marketing Group for Deere & Company, a position he’s held since May 2009. He previously served as the customer representative for the former John Deere Collectors Center in Moline, Illinois.

A native of the Quad-City area, Boyens received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa. An avid collector of John Deere tractors, engines, toys, and memorabilia, he’s a long-time member of the Antique Engine & Tractor Association, Inc., where he served as a former board member. He’s also a member of the Deer Valley Collectors. He lives in the Des Moines, Iowa, area.

Meal: English Cut Broil – 8 oz. Marinated Sirloin Price: $15.00 per person (includes tax, tip & room rent)

Time: Social period: 6:00 P.M. Dinner: 6:30 P.M. at “Against The Grain” Restaurant, Cedar Falls Clarion Inn 5826 University Ave., Cedar Falls 50613.
