Cedar Falls “Clarion Inn” Against the Grain Restaurant

Wheelift Transporters

Topic: Mr. Craig Schmeiser, Wheelift Program Manager for the Doerfer Companies will explain the technology behind Wheelift Transporters and how they’re being used to transport NASA’s new SLS rocket as part of the quest to send man to Mars.

Speaker: Craig Schmeiser is a registered Professional Engineer living in Cedar Falls. In the years since receiving his BSME degree from the University of Iowa in 1973, Craig has designed cranes for Link Belt, excavators for John Deere and for the past thirty years has worked for the Doerfer Companies’ Iowa location. The past ten years have focused on the development of Doerfer’s Wheelift heavy load transporters.

Tour: We will be touring Wheelift’s facility located east of the Waterloo Airport where you will be able to see Wheelift transporters in action.

Program Chair: Gary Dorhout

Meal: Grilled & Sliced Sirloin (flat iron), with Sauce Chimmichurri.

Price: $18.00 per person (includes tax, tip & room rent)

Dinner: 6:30 P.M.

Location: “Against The Grain” Restaurant, Cedar Falls Clarion Inn 5826 University Ave., Cedar Falls 50613.
