Iowa City Robotics is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring young people to become innovative thinkers, collaborative team members, and ethical leaders through hands-on STEM experiences. Our mission is to foster a passion for engineering, programming, and problem-solving while promoting leadership and community involvement.
One of the primary ways we achieve this is through the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), an international program that challenges high school students to design, build, and program industrial-sized robots each year. FIRST, which stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, emphasizes not only technical excellence but also values like "Gracious Professionalism®" and teamwork.
Our team, FRC Team 167, known as Children of the Corn, has proudly represented Iowa City since 1998. Over the years, Team 167 has built a legacy of technical innovation, student leadership, and community outreach.
Students take the lead in designing, building, and programming our robots while also mentoring younger teams and giving back to the community. To learn more about our team, our outreach, and how to get involved, visit www.iowacityrobotics.org. Through Iowa City Robotics, students gain real-world experience, form lasting friendships, and grow into the next generation of leaders and innovators.
