Evolution of hearing aids and Industry Disruption:

Starkey’s “Healthable” Devices with sensors and AI on board

Description

There are two basic types of hearing aids:

  • In-the-ear (ITE) hearing aids

  • Behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids

In 2018 Artificial Intelligence was introduced to hearing aids by Starkey. Today, hearing aids are linked to smart phone applications. Beginning with fall detection and notification to designated helpers, artificial intelligence now separates voice from noise, translates language from speaker's to listener's, monitors heart rate, estimates blood pressure, even sleep percent oxygen. Blood glucose monitoring may potentially be in the future. Hearing aids do more than improve hearing, they improve health.
