What To Look For When Buying a Home

Patrick Vollbrecht has been a professional firefighter in Waterloo for over 30 years. He also teaches arson investigation. Pat inspects rental property for minimum life safety code enforcement and commercial property for code enforcement. He averages 100 to 130 inspections per year at the Fire Department. Pat owns his own inspection company, Certified Home Inspections, which he has operated since 1992 doing an average of 120 inspections per year. These inspections are done primarily as a prepurchase inspection at the request of the buyer. His company has been certified through the Home Inspection Institute of America.


Pat will describe what to look for when buying a home for yourself, a relative, or a friend. He will also show you how to inspect your current home to ensure that it is safe. In addition, Pat will point-out how to determine the remaining life expectancy of various items in a house.


Social period: 6:00 P.M. Dinner: 6:30 P.M. at Greenstreets Restaurant, 5826 University Ave., Cedar Falls.


$10.50 per person (includes tax, tip & room rent.)
