As a way to help the WTS continue celebrating
100 years of existence, Kenneth will be
presenting 100 years of weather history.
Some areas he will touch on are: Iowa Plant
Hardiness Zone Maps; Data obtained using thermometers & Satellites;
Extreme Weather; Atmospheric Science and Climate Models.
There will be a question & answer time with

Speaker
Kenneth Friend is a recently retired electrical
engineer with 39 years in the business.
His last 39 years were at the John Deere Product Engineering Center.
After graduating from the Ottumwa, Iowa High
School, he attended Iowa State University where he received his Bachelor of
Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Mr Friend made his living as a design engineer
while having a lifelong pastime being a
student of science. Physics &
Chemistry are his two favorites with Geology, Astronomy, Weather and
Climatology being right up there too.
