(Formerly called the Holiday Inn)

Topic:   The Governor's STEM Initiative in Northeast Iowa

Speaker:  Mr. James Hoelscher

James Hoelscher, Manager of the Northeast Iowa STEM Hub at the University of Northern Iowa, will share an overview on the recent launching of the Governor's STEM initiative in Northeast Iowa.  STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering & Math education.
His presentation will highlight the exciting opportunities and challenges facing Northeast Iowa in the first year of the program, and how we can collaborate to kindle the STEM spark into a wildfire.
James most recently served as the Production Program Manager for UNI’s Center for Teaching and Learning Mathematics, where he coordinated teams of educational content experts and video production professionals in the creation of pre-k-12 mathematics, literacy, autistic spectrum and parental engagement videos and resources for students, families, and educators.
James also brings a private sector perspective to the STEM Hub operations.  Having recently held the position of National Account Executive with EdgeCore Competitive Marketing, he intends to utilize his experience in account management, sales, campaign development, and creative production to aggressively promote STEM throughout Iowa.
James holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy and BA in Public Relations from UNI.
