Speaker:Allen Schneider, Product Engineering, John Deere.
Biography:Allen has worked as an engineer for John Deere at the Product Engineering Center for 32 years. In 1985 he made his first trip to China in support of technology transfer on Deere 4450 tractors. He has returned 15 times and traveled extensively in China visiting factories, villages, and farms.
Program:Chinese society and agricultural practices have seen significant change starting in 1970. This program will present an overview of agriculture in China, changes that have taken place as well as those things that have not changed, all in the context of the overall culture of China. Be prepared for a visit to a vast country and a complex society that feeds over 1.2 billion people with few food imports.
Time: Social period: 6:00 P.M. Dinner: 6:30 P.M. at Greenstreets Restaurant, 5826 University Ave., Cedar Falls.
Price:$10.50 per person (includes tax, tip & room rent.)
