Renewable Energy, Net Zero Emissions and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in Iowa

MidAmerican Energy in partnership with BHE Renewables, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa, is investing extensively in solar, wind, geothermal and hydro projects. Jeremy will explain the core principals of this partnership and account  management using LINK Exchange programming

To help the audience understand how this differs from traditional power and gas supply, the basics of electric and gas distribution will be covered. To reach the destination of net zero emissions, Wind Prime will be introduced and explained in the context of the national 2050 goal. Green Advantage is a program to reach 100% renewable energy in Iowa. How this affects rates and the required energy efficiency will be explained.

Electric vehicles have introduced anxiety over the range that they can be driven before recharging. MidAmerican Energy is planning rapid direct current charging stations throughout Iowa. These stations and their locations will be discussed. A plan addressing the range anxiety issue is to build an infrastructure of 15 fast-charging stations across Iowa each within roughly 50 miles of another.
